The North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team plays the Georgetown Hoyas on Sunday, Dec. 7 (5 p.m., ESPN ), at the Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
Sitting at No. 17 in the USA TODAY coaches poll and No. 16 in the AP poll, the Tar Heels (7-1) and Hoyas (6-2) are meeting for the first time in 18 years. Georgetown has a 5-4 record in the all-time series, including back-to-back victories.
UNC lost to the Hoyas in the Elite Eight of the 2007 NCAA Tournament and dropped a home game to Georgetown in 2003. The Heels are aiming for their first win in the series since 1999.
