A young performer who survived the devastating fire at a nightclub in Goa’s Arpora has described her harrowing escape, breaking down repeatedly as she relived the moments when the blaze erupted mid-performance. Kristina, a professional dancer from Kazakhstan, spoke to India Today in an emotional interview, saying she is “thankful to be alive” after a crew member’s quick thinking saved her life.

Kristina was on stage during her second performance of the night when the fire broke out, moments after a suspected short circuit. “The fire started during my performance because of a short circuit. I was shocked. The music suddenly stopped, and I didn’t understand what happened. I started looking for the exit,” she recounted, her voice trembling. “I was just crying my head was shaking.”
