Detective Sergeant McCallum said: “Shortly after 10.20pm, colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire Service reported a fire at a block of flats at Inverary Avenue.
“It was reported that an accelerant had been used to set the front door alight. Thankfully, there was no one inside the property at the time of the incident, and there were no reports of any injuries in relation to other residents in the apartment block.

“Significant scorch damage was caused to the flat door as a result of the blaze.
“An investigation is underway, and police are treating the report as arson with intent to endanger life.
