The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday attacked the Congress party after former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, claimed that a person needs “Rs 500 crore in a suitcase" to become chief minister in the party, saying that she has exposed “deep-rooted corruption" in the Congress.
BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said that it is very clear that the Congress has been totally engulfed in corrupt practices.
“Today, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, a senior leader of the Congress party in Punjab and wife of former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu said that in Congress party anybody can only think of becoming Chief Minister if he is having Rs 500 crores in his suitcase," he said as quoted by news agency ANI.
