Strictly Come Dancing contestant Lewis Cope said he "wasn't good enough" to portray Billy Elliot, in response to claims that he's a professional dancer. The 30-year-old has repeatedly defended his participation on the BBC programme after many claimed his musical background put him at an unfair advantage.

This type of controversy tends to surround at least one participant from an entertainment industry each year, prompting calls for those with such experience to be excluded from the competition.
