The Philadelphia Phillies failed to reach the World Series last season. Now, Kyle Schwarber is a free agent and is drawing interest from plenty of teams.

Schwarber was the National League MVP Award runner-up last season and had the best season of his career at age 32. Insiders have tabbed teams like the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets as contenders to sign him, along with his hometown team, the Cincinnati Reds. However, he has received an offer from a surprising team, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

"The Pittsburgh Pirates have made free-agent designated hitter Kyle Schwarber a four-year offer, according to people briefed on their discussions," wrote Rosenthal. "The offer almost certainly is for more than $100 million."
