Anderson Cooper Signs New Deal To Stay At CNN

Anderson Cooper has signed a new contract with CNN to stay with the network, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Cooper has had an expanded presence on CNN as it has expanded into podcasts and streaming. He hosts the nightly Anderson Cooper 360 , the weekly newsmagazine The Whole Story and the podcast and streaming series All There Is . He also anchors during election night and other major breaking news events and specials like the network’s annual New Year’s Eve telecast.

Cooper joined the network in 2001, and two years later, he launched AC 360 . He also is a correspondent for CBS News’ 60 Minutes .

His renewal is note worthy given the push across all broadcast and cable networks to trim costs amid a general decline in linear programming, as audiences migrate
