RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The trial for a member of a church that’s been called a cult has now been postponed.
Word of Faith Fellowship is based in Rutherford County. Over the last several years, the church has been accused of trafficking slave labor and emotionally and physically abusing its members.
A victim came forward and accused several Word of Faith members of attacking him back in 2013. As a result, five members were indicted.
The case against one of the indicted members ended in a mistrial. The new trial was set to begin on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025 but the court confirmed it’s no longer on the roster for this week.
