LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - It’s official! The city of Laredo now has two parks dedicated to the growing game of pickleball.

Devine Mercy Park, located in District 6, celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of brand-new pickleball courts.

Council member Tyler King was a major sponsor of the project, exactly what he looked for when it came to making more outdoor activities readily available to the public.

The pickleball experts were ready to play at the grand opening. Mayor Victor Trevino even put it all out there on the court.

According to Parks and Recreation Director J.J. Gomez, the next project for courts will be explored at Bartlett Park. From there, the intention is to have courts in every district in the city of Laredo.
