ROCKFORD, Ill. — The identity of the victim who died after a shooting early on Sunday morning has been revealed.

The Winnebago County Coroner's Office said 35-year-old Tarrie Noel of Rockford was the victim of a shooting who later died from his wounds.

Just before 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, Noel was shot while in the 300 block of Buckbee Street in Rockford.

Rockford Police Officers and Rockford Fire Department members rushed to the area and found Noel with critical injuries.

Life-saving measures were given to Noel, and he was brought via ambulance to a local hospital.

Despite efforts to save his life, Noel was pronounced dead around 2 a.m. An autopsy confirmed he died from his gunshot wound.

The Coroner's Office and Rockford PD are working together to investigate Noel's death.
