Whoopi Goldberg is reprising an important role.

The Sister Act actress shared that her grandson Mason Dean welcomed a baby girl, making Whoopi a great-grandmother for the second time.

“I’m going to start out today because I have some fun news from over the weekend,” Whoopi told the audience during the Dec. 8 episode of The View . “My family welcomed Lotus Dean to the world. She’s 6 pounds, 3 ounces.”

The 70-year-old unveiled a few snaps of the newborn alongside the family dog Ruby and cuddling with Mason , the youngest son of Whoopi’s daughter Alex Martin , 51, who Whoopi welcomed with first husband Alvin Martin when she was 18 .

Cohost Sunny Hostin was delighted by the photo, adding that Mason “looks in love,”
