A crackdown on crime and anti-social behaviour at a Walsall estate has led to problem tenants being handed warnings.

West Midlands Police has been acting to stem crime including shop lifting, vandalism and criminal damage, along with drug use and other incidents of bad behaviour in the Beechdale estate.

Police said a communal front door at flats in Stephenson Square has been removed due to criminal damage and there has been graffiti to the walls.

Extra powers were handed to police to move groups of people suspected of causing trouble on last week.

Police were given a section 35 dispersal order, which came into effect last Wednesday for 48 hours around the areas of Stephenson Square and Stephenson Avenue.
