Former U.S. President Donald Trump revealed on Monday plans to permit Nvidia to export its H200 chips to certain countries, including China, in a move aimed at balancing economic interests with national security concerns.
The U.S. Department of Commerce is reportedly in the process of ironing out the specific conditions under which these exports can occur. Similar guidelines are expected for AMD, Intel, and other American companies involved in chip manufacturing.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that 25% of the transactions will be paid to the United States, demonstrating his ongoing focus on economic gains for the country.
