SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Sacramento State's president said the Lil Yachty concert that ended in chaos cost half of what the rapper normally charges.
During an extended interview with KCRA 3's Brandi Cummings on Monday, Dr. Luke Wood said Lil Yachty did the concert as a favor, charging the university $100,000.
Wood said the concert was supposed to be for 20 minutes, but that Lil Yachty had planned to play longer and was doing the concert as a favor. However, the post-football game concert lasted fewer than 10 minutes before the crowd knocked down barriers, leading some people to be trampled.
When asked about security measures, Wood said Lil Yachty "did everything he was supposed to do," and that it was Sac State that made the decision to shut down the concert.
