HIGHLAND, N.Y. — The Saugerties Animal Shelter is calling on community members to plunge into the new year by participating in the shelter’s second annual “Chilly Cherish Challenge” Cold Plunge Fundraiser.

The event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 1, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Berean Park, 49 Reservoir Road in Highland.

Participants are encouraged to take the plunge—either individually or as part of a team—to raise funds for the Saugerties Animal Shelter, which provides care and support for homeless and neglected animals.

Registration is open through Dec. 28, and can be completed by emailing saugertiesanimalshelter2017@gmail.com . Those registering should include their name(s), contact information, and team name (if applicable).
