COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - As the Texas A&M football team prepares for its first appearance in the College Football Playoff, head coach Mike Elko has been forced to put on his CEO hat and find a replacement for offensive coordinator Collin Klein.

Monday, Elko said a plan is in place for filling the vacancy after the season concludes.

“I think we’re in a pretty good place with it,” Elko said. “I think our intentions right now are to try to get through the season and let that thing play out. But I think, yeah, we’re in a really good place with knowing which direction we want to go with that.”

Klein signed a five-year deal with an annual base salary of $4.3 million to return to his alma mater, Kansas State , as the Wildcats’ 36th head coach. He will remain with the Aggies through th
