ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Detroit Tigers will play two exhibition games in Santo Domingo against the Dominican Republic national team this spring ahead of the World Baseball Classic.

The Tigers will play March 3 and 4 in two friendlies against the Dominican team and manager Albert Pujols, MLB announced Monday during the Winter Meetings in Orlando.

The Tigers had previously announced an exhibition game against Panama on March 4 in Lakeland. Half the squad will stay in Florida for that game while the other half heads to the Dominican Republic.

The Tigers and Minnesota Twins played an exhibition game in the Dominican Republic on March 7, 2020 , just days before spring training was suspended due to the COVID pandemic.
