Workforce housing in Plymouth, an entrepreneurial center in Claremont and expanding trail access in Pinkham’s Grant are among 15 projects sharing $8 million in federal grants from the Northern Border Regional Commission.
Congress created the Northern Border commission in 2008 as a federal-state partnership to work on economic challenges and long-term solutions for northern New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and New York.
These grants will come from the program’s Catalyst Fund that’s designed to support economic initiatives in rural parts of the four states.
The commission can benefit communities in seven of the state’s 10 counties; Hillsborough, Rockingham and Strafford Counties along the southern tier are not involved.
