GREENWOOD, S.C. —

A Greenwood, South Carolina, man has been arrested on child sexual abuse material charges.

On Monday, Dec. 8, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of 30-year-old Bishop Ryan Weatherhead.

Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Weatherhead.

Investigators said Weatherhead distributed and possessed files of child sexual abuse material. He was arrested on Nov. 26.

Weatherhead has been charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, which are both felony offenses punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Weatherhead was booked into the Greenwood County Detention Center without bond.
