MOUNT ENTERPRISE, Texas (KTRE) - Mount Enterprise running back Kaegan Ash broke a 72-year record on Friday, and the Wildcats are playing in the state semifinals for the first time in school history.

Ash and Mount Enterprise head coach Scott Ponder joined East Texas Now on Monday to talk about the historic season the Wildcats are having. Ash said it was a cool moment breaking the single-season rushing record previously held by Ken Hall.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunity my coaches, my family and everybody put me in,” Ash said. “At the end of it, I just give all the praise and glory to God for allowing me to go out there and do that. It was just a really cool moment.”

The Wildcats are a perfect 14-0 this season, and Ash said it’s a special feeling to be one of the final four teams
