As of Monday, several major French unions whose members include Louvre employees have voted to strike , declaring that the museum is in “crisis.” News of the strike comes a few days after the Louvre confirmed that, at the end of last month, an estimated 400 books in the Egyptian Antiquities Department were damaged by a pipe leak .
