Maryland Democrats should take solace and learn lessons from the 13-point swing the party enjoyed in Tennessee’s special election. Aftyn Behn, a liberal Democrat who disparaged the city she was running to represent and suggested the Nashville police department should be dissolved, was still able to overperform in a district that Donald Trump won by 22 points . Behn lost by 9 points to Matt Van Epps, a Republican who promised to use his position in Congress to support Donald Trump and his policies.
