The 2025-26 girls basketball season officially tipped on Monday, and there will be countless teams to follow from one end of the state to the other.
NJ Advance Media is highlighting the top players in each conference as the full Opening Night next week.
Here are the players to watch in the Greater Middlesex Conference:
Carmela Arana, Edison, So.
Arana led Edison in scoring as a freshman, averaging 11.8 points per game. She also averaged 4.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game and hit for a team-high 59 3-pointers.
Jordan Barnes, St. Thomas Aquinas, Sr.
Barnes averaged 10.2 points and 5.9 rebounds as St. Thomas Aquinas went 23-7 and 14-0 atop the Red Division.
Thara Belton, Highland Park, Sr.
Belton averaged 10 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. She also hit for
