The Heisman Trophy has been awarded to the most outstanding player in college football every year since 1935. No program has produced more Heisman winners than USC . The Trojans have had eight players hoist the sport's most coveted individual award. Their most recent winner was quarterback Caleb Williams in 2022.

Travis Hunter ( Colorado ) won the award in 2024.In 2025, four quarterbacks were named Heisman Trophy finalists : Indiana 's Fernando Mendoza , Ohio State 's Julian Sayin , Vanderbilt 's Diego Pavia , and Notre Dame' s Jeremiyah Love .
