The FCS second-round win over Yale Saturday was a “great learning opportunity” for Montana State, head coach Brent Vigen said, and that included what happened during the postgame celebration.

Shortly after the game ended, MSU running back Julius Davis caught up with former Wisconsin teammate turned backup Yale quarterback Marcus Howe. Davis then appeared to share words with Yale defensive back Abu Kamara, a situation which Vigen tried to de-escalate by separating Davis from other players.

While talking with Vigen — and cornerback Takhari Carr attempting to console him — Davis was visibly upset with how the situation unfolded. The entire exchange was shown on the ESPN+ broadcast and later shared by ESPN , The Athletic , Barstool Sports and others.
