Park Harrisburg is partnering with an AI-powered parking system to roll out “seamless” drive-in, drive-out systems across all 12 city-owned parking garages, marking Harrisburg’s first major public infrastructure upgrade in over a decade, officials said.
Metropolis is an AI company that uses camera technology to recognize vehicles and automatically charge parking fees.
Installation is already underway across all 12 Park Harrisburg facilities and will continue throughout December, replacing aging equipment with modern technology that allows both monthly and daily parkers to simply enter and exit the garages without having to go through a kiosk.
The system will use computer vision and license plate recognition to link vehicles to their payment account with a credit card on file automatical
