The Issue: Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s intention to end the clearing of homeless encampments.

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will stop at nothing to destroy the city, citizen by citizen ( “Zo nix on clearing camps of homeless,” Dec. 5).

This not only includes the rich, but the poor and homeless. New York has not experienced a brutal winter in years but the 2026 is forecast to be snowier and colder than average.

To paraphrase the Book of Exodus, Mamdani is saying, “Let my people freeze.”
