ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- It was quite the cold and snowy day today for most of Central Virginia, with Albemarle County receiving between 1-2 inches of snow. With temperatures dropping to the teens tonight, refreeze is a major concern and AAA and VDOT want drivers to stay off of the roads.
"Our primary concern is our afternoon commuters. When they came in this morning, they may not have seen snow on their way to work. So what can they expect? Drivers should remain very cautious and weather-aware this afternoon. If you do not have to travel, we are encouraging people do not travel. They should plan ahead, especially, anyone travelling from work today as I mentioned. They can expect slick roadways throughout the day because temperatures are hovering near freezing and tonight,
