A suspicious death investigation is underway after a 93-year-old man was found with lacerations inside his Logan home, Philadelphia police announced on Monday, Dec. 8.

The man, identified as Lafayette Dailey, was discovered unresponsive inside a residence on the 4500 block of North 16th Street at approximately 2:58 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, according to the release. Medics pronounced him deceased at 3:05 p.m., police said.

Responding officers reported that Dailey had lacerations to both his chest and head. Detectives are treating the case as a suspicious death as they work to determine what happened, authorities said.

Investigators also learned that Dailey’s wallet, car keys, and vehicle were missing. Police are actively searching for his white 2007 Chrysler 300 with Pennsylvania license plate GRJ-5294, according to the release. His family believes the car is no longer in Philadelphia, according to social media posts.
