SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Easthampton is embracing their love for Dr. Suess and bringing a little bit of holiday joy to the city.

For the first time, Easthampton police will become Whoville police with a new special holiday patch. This is not only special because Dr. Suess was a local of western Mass, but many believe Whoville itself was formed in the image of Easthampton!

The seal is similar to the official patch, showing both Nashawannuck Pond and Mount Tom at its center, but now it’s complete with a star and a tree.

If you would like to join in on the Whoville spirit, these patches will go on sale on Tuesday at the Public Safety Complex for 10 dollars each and on sale at the stuff-a-cruiser drive on the 13 th and 14 th at the Big E’s supermarket.
