A pensioner claims she's been left "deflated and depressed" after shelling out £150 weekly on electricity just to keep her modest two-bedroom flat warm during winter. Diana Ashmore, 70, believes a mix of inadequate insulation, costly energy rates and her housing estate's pricey heating infrastructure is driving her bills through the roof.

Diane, who funnels nearly her entire pension into utility expenses, has been urging authorities to address insulation issues at her Doncaster housing estate. However, she maintains the primary culprit behind her enormous bills is the steep electricity tariff for the building's district heating network, coupled with the two-bedroom flat's single-brick construction and draughty windows.
