NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - As the federal crackdown on illegal immigrants in the New Orleans area continues, residents’ opinions about Operation Catahoula Crunch vary.
“Overkill. It’s like throwing the baby out with the bath water, and I’ve talked to people who have actually been approached and accosted, thinking this man was an immigrant and he’s an American, he’s a Native American,” said Kay Potts.

Vincent Liberto measured his words in responding to the immigration sweeps.
“I’m not going to say yes or no, but I am going to say I think if you start your life as an American breaking the law, then like why obey any other law? As good a people as they be, I’m sure they are, once you break the law, it’s like you’re here illegally. So, there’s got to be something done
