WASHINGTON — The Powerball jackpot soared to $930 million after nobody won the grand prize on Monday.
Only a single ticket from Florida matched the five white balls to win $1 million.
Monday's jackpot was still a billion dollars below September's historic $1.8 billion jackpot, which was split by two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas — the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
The current jackpot has been rolling since Sept. 6, when those two winners beat odds of 1 in 292.2 million. Monday's prize represents the cash value of an annuity paid over 29 years; winners can also choose a lump sum payment. For Monday's prize, that amount was $403.6 million before taxes.
The next drawing is on Wednesday, offering the almost $1 billion prize with a cash option of $429 million.
