BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — The parents of a 1-year-old girl killed in a crash outside a Fair Oaks daycare say they were never informed that the driver involved had been cleared of criminal charges, despite assurances from investigators that the families were notified.

MKaya Amrani and her teacher, Alexia Rosales, were killed on Dec. 19, 2024, when a vehicle slammed through a fenced-in play area at Montessori Plus Daycare. Investigators with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said at the time that the driver appeared to be experiencing a medical episode when they lost control and crashed into another vehicle, then the fenced-in area.

Nearly a year later, MKaya’s parents say they still don’t have answers.
