MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -Snow removal companies across southern Wisconsin are working around the clock as the region experiences an unusually heavy start to winter.

The constant snowfall over the past few weeks has kept crews busy but also created stress for workers and equipment with the non-stop demands.

“Our guys are working a lot of overtime to get stuff done,” said Sam Skalsky, co-owner of Western Landscape in Verona.

Skalsky and his crew at Western Landscape have been working day after day since Thanksgiving weekend, clearing snow and salting lots and sidewalks for apartment complexes, industrial sites and condo associations.

He says it is a lot of work switching from the fall landscaping season to winter snow removal.
