NEW PLYMOUTH, Idaho — A devastating barn fire early Sunday morning killed 28 horses and sent two employees to the hospital for smoke inhalation, leaving a tight-knit rural community in mourning.
Firefighters were dispatched at 6:44 a.m. to a report of flames at a horse facility on Little Lane near New Plymouth. The facility is well known in the area and in nearby states for its horse training programs.
A GoFundMe was started for the owners of the facility, C&C Quarter Horses. The owners of the business are Chris and Colleen Riedle. KTVB reached Colleen Riedle via Facebook on Monday morning, who said they are not ready to speak publicly.
"We just need to process and try and figure out our net steps," Colleen Riedle said.
