Torrent Power signs 10-year LNG supply deal with Japan’s JERA December 09, 2025

Ahmedabad: Torrent Power Ltd (TPL) on Monday announced that it has signed a long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with JERA Co., Inc., Japan’s largest power generation company and a global leader across the LNG value chain. Under the agreement, JERA will supply up to 0.27 MMTPA of LNG to Torrent Power for a period of 10 years starting from 2027.

According to the press release, the LNG procured under this agreement will be strategically utilized by TPL to operate its 2,730 MW Combined Cycle Gas-Based Power Plants (GBPPs) in India. The supply will help meet rising electricity demand, support peak demand periods, and balance renewable energy generation.
