A 20-year-old man considered a person of interest in the shooting last month of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was taken into custody Monday near Buffalo, the NYPD and the Buffalo police said.
The Bronx resident, who was not immediately identified, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in upstate Amherst, according to the authorities. The Marshals Service did not immediately respond Monday to a request by Newsday for comment.
The NYPD had previously released images of an alleged suspect wanted in connection with the Nov. 16 shooting, but it was unclear on Monday if that is the person of interest. No criminal charges linked to the shooting of Boyd had been filed by Monday afternoon.
Boyd, 29, was shot once in the abdomen about 2 a.m. outside Sei Less, an Asian fusion restauran
