A massive fire erupted on the terrace of a commercial building on the arterial Laxmi Road in Sadashiv Peth on Tuesday, prompting the Pune City Fire Brigade to deploy four fire tenders.

According to officials, no casualties have been reported during the initial assessment of the fire.

According to officials at the Pune City Fire Brigade control room, the fire started sometime around 11.45 am on the terrace of the commercial complex, which houses various businesses, including the main branch of Ramesh Dyeing.

“The fire was brought under control within half an hour. Prima facie, no casualties have been reported. The property damage is being assessed. After the fire was controlled, a cooling operation was conducted to avert any secondary fire,” a fire brigade officer said.
