A predatory nurse has been locked up for nearly eight years after he raped a vulnerable co-worker and sexually assaulted two others. Naijil Paul was extradited from India to face his sentence at the High Court in Glasgow.

The 47 year old, who was a manager at a care home in Lanarkshire , Scotland, ordered the terrified rape victim to "do what I want" or she would face the sack. Paul had previously confessed to the crimes during an October hearing.

Despite his admissions of guilt, the court heard today that Paul exhibited "quite a degree of victim blaming" in a pre-sentencing report. The predator even suggested that he believed he was doing one of the women "a favour".
