Tesco has issued a recall notice for a popular party food due to concerns that it may pose a “possible health risk” to individuals with allergies. Tesco 6 Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns were found to contain milk not mentioned on the label, which could trigger symptoms in anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
Around one in 50 babies suffer from allergies to cow’s milk, although most outgrow it during childhood. Up to one in 10 adults is thought to be lactose intolerant, meaning their body cannot digest the sugar found in milk products.
