ISRAEL has been accused of “blatant disregard” for international law after storming a UN building, tearing down the body’s flag, and replacing it with an Israeli one.

The Israeli military raided a UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) compound in East Jerusalem on Monday.

The agency’s commissioner-general Philippe Lazzarini said that the Israeli raid “represents a new challenge to international law, one that creates a dangerous precedent anywhere else the UN is present across the world”.
