MASSILLON – City officials are seeking public feedback on how to improve a pair of highly traveled intersections.
The city Engineer's Office is mulling future upgrades to state Route 21 at Lake Avenue, as well as First Street NE at Lake Avenue NE.
A public meeting giving local residents an opportunity provide their input will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Massillon Recreation Center , 505 Erie St. N.
A third option is to widen portions of Route 21, Lake Avenue and First Street, including traffic signal improvements.
The cost to redo the intersections is estimated to exceed $4 million — with the city mainly using grant funding for the project, Pitts has said. The city's share would be 20%. Summer 2027 is the soonest any road upgrades will start.
