The Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust has awarded $150 million in so-called “ Legacy Grants ,” using funds at the center of a debate between the trust and the Oklahoma Legislature.
TSET announced the list of grant recipients on Nov. 20. The trust said 14 recipients – out of 167 applicants – would receive grants ranging from $500,000 to $30 million. It described the first-time program as one that would transform Oklahoma’s health landscape by increasing access to health care and improving the quality of health care across the state, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
