NORWALK, CT (WFSB) - Firefighters in Norwalk battled a fire at a two-story vacant warehouse Monday night.
The Norwalk Fire Department said it responded to 6 Wilton Ave. around 6:50 p.m.
“Upon arrival of the first due engine company, smoke was observed coming from the second floor of the building,” said Deputy Chief Adam Markowitz, Norwalk Fire Department. “As additional Norwalk Fire Department companies arrived on scene, a door was forced open and it was determined there was some type of electrical fire with a large amount of arcing coming from inside the building.”
Crews said a decision was made to not allow firefighters to enter the building until the electric company arrived to secure the power.
