Three North East pubs have been named among the UK's best places to buy a pint of Guinness.

Thirty five pubs have been named on Guinness' debut 'Harp Guide' - a list of pubs and bars that serve up the best pints of the stout.

The boozers were judged on five categories, quality pours, welcoming atmosphere, strong community, great service and a genuine love of Guinness.

From Liverpool to Brighton to London, Irish and non-Irish bars alike have made the list. Each pub will now receive an official brass harp to put on display to show their prowess.

Sheepfolds, Sunderland

The Grade II-listed site, which opened in 2024, has welcomed thousands of customers from the city and beyond each week, making its mark as a visitor favourite in the region.
