Josh Stokes has come through his first week of Bristol City team training well after recovering from injury, Gerhard Struber has confirmed, but the attacking midfielder needs more time on the grass to take the next steps in his journey back to full fitness.

Stokes, who spent last season on loan in League One with Cambridge United, put pen to paper on a new contract in BS3 this summer in the days following Gerhard Struber's appointment. However, the 21-year-old had an interrupted pre-season due to an injury, which saw him miss portions of the Reds' preparation for the new campaign.
