RAPID CITY — Senate Majority Leader John Thune is voicing support for President Trump’s newly announced 12-billion-dollar farm aid package.
In a social media statement, Thune said the funding will provide critical relief for farmers facing a strained agricultural economy, including higher production costs and trade disruptions.
The Trump administration says the aid will be funded through tariff revenue and is intended to help producers impacted by temporary trade market challenges.
Payments are expected to be distributed by the end of February.
