Florida basketball will face No. 5 UConn in the Gators’ second straight top 25 battle at Madison Square Garden in the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
The No. 18 Gators (5-3) fell to No. 3 Duke last week, while the Huskes (8-1) pulled out wins against Kansas and East Texas A&M.
Florida returns to the Garden for the first time in seven years, making its fourth appearance in the Jimmy V Classic and first under Todd Golden. The Gators are facing back-to-back top-5 opponents for the third time under Golden.
Florida last played UConn during its national title run last season, which was a second-round win that saw the Gators rally from a 52-46 deficit with nine minutes to play. The Gators outscored the Huskies 26-12 over the next 8:20 and survived UConn's late push.
