GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island City Council will vote on a memorandum of understanding between the city and Nebraska Game and Parks Foundation regarding Camp Augustine during Tuesday night’s meeting.

According to the agenda, the site is owned by the City of Grand Island. The memorandum will prepare Camp Augustine for purchase so the city can transfer stewardship of the property to the state park system.

If approved by the city council, the next steps in turning Camp Augustine into a state park will include securing appraisals and completing other work to ensure the property is ready for acquisition.
